Proclaim the Gospel to Make Your Joy Complete. I John 1. By Mrs. Noyo Edem

1 John 1
The Incarnation of the Word of Life
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. 2 The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We write this to make our[a] joy complete.
Light and Darkness, Sin and Forgiveness
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[b] sin.
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

Noyo Edem's Notes:
We received the good news of the eternal gospel of peace and salvation from our predecessors in the faith.  They were faithful in their service to God, and they obeyed God and went out to proclaim the gospel to the world.  I can confidently say that they understood that their fellowship with God and the Son would not have been perfect or complete, if they did not preach this gospel to the rest of the world. Furthermore, their joy in the service of our God and their hope for an eternal life with Him in heaven would not have been made possible and complete if they did not obey God.

Today's passage encourages us to tell the world about the gospel, and testify about the salvation of Jesus Christ. We must be concerned about winning souls for the Kingdom of God, because there are still many people living in the Kingdom of darkness that have not yet heard about this gospel. Therefore, we must strive to reach out to them so that our fellowship with God and His Son Jesus Christ will flourish and our joy will be complete.

None of us can deny that we have not sinned; we have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory and thus we must repent of our sins and turn back to God. Those of us who have been saved must tell others about God's plan for the salvation of man. The gospel of Jesus Christ reconciles us to God and purifies us of all unrighteousness.

Let us be blessed this day as we heed the word of God and do the Lord's will  in Jesus' name. Amen.

Prayer Points:
Thank God for this new day; bless Him for His Holy name; thank God for counting your worthy to be His child and ambassador on earth. Tell God that your repent of your sins and the unwillingness in you to proclaim the gospel. Ask God to empower you and give you wisdom and knowledge to do His will. Pray for an utterance from God for the people around you today.

Thank God for answered prayers in Jesus' name. Amen.

Be blessed.

Mrs. Noyo Edem
